ShufflePoint's Analytics Query Language accesses Google Analytics data via the
Google Analytics API using OAuth (Open Authentication). OAuth allows users to
share their private resources (in this case Google Analytics data) stored on one
site with another site without having to give out their username and password.
Using OAuth, a Google Analtics user can grant ShufflePoint a revokable
access token which can only be used to access Google Analytics data.
A user can revoke the granted token by visiting
https://www.google.com/accounts/IssuedAuthSubTokens
ShufflePoint uses the granted access tokens to:
- Access metadata about GA accounts
- Satisfy interactive queries created by users
- Tranform queries into data feeds for Excel or Google Visualization Gadgets
- Make data requests used for batch and scheduled reports
- Provide technical support to our customers
