ShufflePoint Studio for PowerPoint - Known Issues
PowerPoint® 2007 Files
PowerPoint 2007 users must save their files in the PowerPoint 2003 format with the ".ppt" extension before uploading them to ShufflePoint.
Custom Slide Backgrounds
Slide backgrounds set using techniques other than a background image, such as a gradient fill, will not appear correctly in the generated PowerPoint if the slide content is updated using the ShufflePoint editor or a master override is specified for the slide.
ShufflePoint Editor
The ShufflePoint editor is meant for basic text editing needed to quickly pull together a presentation. It is not meant to reproduce all of the functionality provided by PowerPoint. ShufflePoint has tried to make the editor as close to WYSIWYG as possible with the following exceptions:
Fonts
All fonts installed on your PC will appear in the font selection list within the ShufflePoint editor. These fonts can be assigned to text, and they will appear correctly in downloaded PowerPoints; however, not all fonts are installed on the ShufflePoint server, so the preview images shown within the ShufflePoint application may not correctly depict the chosen fonts.
Tabs & Soft Returns
Tabs and soft returns appear as special characters within the ShufflePoint editor. You can insert tabs and soft returns using the editor, and they will render properly in the generated PowerPoint.
Supported Characters & Symbols
The ShufflePoint editor supports all Unicode characters. Symbols from fonts such as Wingdings are not supported, and will appear as an unexpected character in the editor. Unicode does support most of the symbols needed for professional PowerPoints. Adding or editing Unicode can be done on Windows using the Character Map utility (under Start/Accessories/System tools). On the Macintosh, use the Character Palette utility to enter Unicode characters. You will need to insert the character first into TextEdit and then copy and paste it to the ShufflePoint editor dialog.
Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks will not appear with the same color as they do in PowerPoint. The presence of a hyperlink will also throw off the background color of the ShufflePoint editor for that placeholder.
Bullet Colors & Types
The ShufflePoint editor represents all bullets as a solid dot; however, the bullets will appear with the correct symbol in the generated PowerPoint. While in the ShufflePoint editor, bullets may appear with an unexpected color; however, the color will appear properly in the generated PowerPoint.
Title Slide Subtitle Indents
It is possible to establish formatting settings for each indent level in title masters for the subtitle placeholder. If you change the indent in the ShufflePoint editor for a related slide, the formatting settings will remain as they were, and will not follow the master settings established for the new indent level.
