Setup step: Associate your ShufflePoint account with Google Analytics

If you have not already done so, click the Google Analytics link on the right side of the “My ShufflePoint” page, and follow Google's instructions. Upon granting access and returning to the ShufflePoint site, you should see a list of Google Analytics accounts and profiles which may now be queried using ShufflePoint.

Step 1: Start ShufflePoint Studio™

Log into www.shufflepoint.com and click the “Launch ShufflePoint Studio” button. Once Studio has loaded, click the “Shared” folder icon in the tree on the left side of the screen and click on Visitors. Now double-click on the first Visitors slide to add it to the new presentation. Studio should appear as depicted below:

Step 2: Add slides to your presentation

Click on the “Traffic Sources” slide set under the “Shared” folder and add the first slide to your presentation by double-clicking on it. Then click on “Content” and add the first slide. Studio will appear as follows:

Step 3: Manage Presentation Defaults

Click the Google Analytics settings button at the bottom of the right panel to set a presentation's default profile and timeframe. The specified profile will be used for all queries defined without a profile. The specified timeframe will be used for all queries that use the "default" timeframe.

The advantage of using these defaults is that you can create one presentation template and easily use it for multiple profiles and timeframes without changing the underlying queries. You can regenerate the presentation with a different master by clicking the Select Master button at the bottom. Using this combination, you can assemble one presentation for use with multiple profiles and masters.

Step 4: Save Presentation

Click on the Save Presentation button at the top of the right panel to save the presentation to the “My Presentations” list.

Step 5: Generate PowerPoint

Click on the Generate Presentation button to generate a PowerPoint file for downloading. Note that the green spinner to the right of the presentation will be active until the generation is complete.

Step 5: Download PowerPoint

Once the spinner to the right of the presentation turns into a PowerPoint Download Presentation icon, click the icon to download the PowerPoint. Clicking the Generate Presentation button again in the future will regenerate the presentation with the latest data.

Optional Step: View Queries

Select the Top Content slide if its not already selected. Move your mouse over the center preview image and note that placeholders are highlighted with green boxes. Placeholders can be associated with GAQL queries. To view the query associated with a placeholder, click on the box, and then click on the Data Association button under the preview image (or double-click the placeholder) to bring up the GAQL query tool. After the tool pops up, click on the “Query” tab in the center of the screen. Select the timechart placeholder at the top of the slide and open the query tool to see the following screen:

Use this approach to see how the ShufflePoint provided templates were created, and get a start on creating your own custom templates. See Quick Start - Google Analytics with PowerPoint® - Custom Templates for information on how to create custom slide templates for use with Google Analytics data.

Optional Step: Update Preview Images

Click the Image Refresh icon at the bottom of the center panel to update the selected slide's preview image to reflect your master settings and the latest data, This step is not necessary to generate and download up-to-date presentations. It is only useful if you wish to see preview images that match what the downloaded presaentation will look like. The same icon can be found at the bottom of the right panel. Clicking this one will update the preview images for all slides in the current presentation.
